Well, yesterday was a very sad day. We found out that our beloved assistant walk leader—David—was being transferred to the southern walk. The southern walk is in need of male walkers…so, they had to send David. We really miss him and hope he comes back soon!
I don’t have too much to say today…since I just updated like 2 days ago. But, I did want to mention all the neat things that have happened in the past few days. Yesterday at morning mass we ran into these three ladies that were walking around the church. They offered to make us dinner and bring it to the RV park. When day shift arrived at the park that evening—the ladies had made a feast for us! The food was super yummy and just what we needed after a long day of walking! They were so sweet and generous! And then this morning at Mass…they had baked us muffins and coffee cake for the road! Crazy!
It is truly amazing that so many people are so giving. Crossroads has shown me that really good people do exist in this world!
Well, this weekend we are staying in the wonderful city of St. Louis, Missouri. Josh had told us that we were staying in a convent this weekend, whereas the boys were staying in a seminary! So many things were running through our minds when we discovered this fact. But, let me tell you—all of my assumptions were incorrect! The sisters are incredibly charitable and kind! And the place we are staying at…is pretty sweet! They gave us our own mini apartment down in the basement. It has couches, tons of beds, and three bathrooms! So fun!
Tonight we had some free time…so, Josh decided that we should go bowling! Tons of fun! I mean—I pretty much kicked everyone’s butt. Haha. We played two games and had a blast making fun of everyone’s ridiculous gutterballs. The night was still young when we left…so we decided to find an empty parking lot, turn up the music in the van, leave the doors open and dance till our hearts were content! As a group, we danced to the Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, and Macarena! Haha! So many cars stopped and watched us. It was a hilarious sight! Matt and Chris still had their Pro-Life shirts on!
We head out tonight to continue walking in Illinois! Only 4 weeks left…
Until next time, Michelle
